In collaboration with Roman Tours. The Roman Fort Experience is a stunning ongoing recreation of an authentic frontier fort. Offering pupils and teachers an exciting and interactive “hands on” taste of life in Roman Britain and the conquest of Wales. Transported to the 2nd Century AD, to experience the life and duties of a Roman soldier through personal experiences.

Roman soldiers are your expert guides transporting pupils to the 2nd Century AD during the Roman Conquest of Wales Your puplis as new recruits (tiro’s) to the Roman army will have tasks to complete.

Essential Information

What To Expect On The Day

The day starts at 10.00am ends at 2.30pm (flexible) pupils should wear old clothes and bring waterproofs, boots/wellies.

Our sessions are hands-on and practical, which suits many neuro-divergent children very well.

We use character acting, role play and questioning to develop an understanding of the period with the pupils

Our educational offering is designed to comply with both the Welsh and English National Curriculum.
