A Journey of Discovery
Live your best life at Park in the Past with freedom to explore on foot or by kayak our gorgeously ‘green and blue’ 120-acre site! There are so many fascinating things to see already on site from all creatures great and small to reminders of our ancient and more recent past in this part of Wales.
The Park sits centre-stage of a dramatic prehistoric landscape. Nestled in a lush green valley, the River Alyn wends its way through our site just below Hope Mountain to the west, Caer Estyn Iron Age hillfort to the south and Wat’s Dyke to the East. Long forgotten evidence found in the Park includes an avenue of prehistoric standing stones and a 10,000 year old prehistoric bison tooth!
History, Myth & Discovery
A Living Landscape That’s Still Growing
We’re actually four times the size of the Eden Project with over two miles of tracks and paths to enjoy that take you on a journey through this historic landscape. Dolmen burial monuments, a stone circle complete with embedded fossils, the largest Earth House in the UK, and the first authentically reconstructed Roman auxiliary fort to be built in Britain since the Romans were here!
But watch this space because we’re planning lots more – so who knows what you might find as you explore!
