Ragnarök: An Evening of Viking Storytelling with Olaf the Beardless

Saturday 22nd August

Step into the warm glow of the Earth House for an unforgettable evening of myth, legend, and epic storytelling as internationally acclaimed Viking storyteller Olaf the Beardless returns to Park in the Past.

This year, Olaf brings to life one of the greatest tales from Norse mythology: Ragnarök. More than just the end of the world, Ragnarök is the dramatic culmination of the Viking sagas—a prophecy of the final battle in which gods, giants, beasts, and mankind collide in a struggle that will consume the Nine Realms. Yet from the ashes of destruction comes hope, as a new world begins to emerge and a new age dawns.

With his captivating storytelling, humour, and deep knowledge of Viking history and mythology, Olaf will transport you into the heart of the Norse world, making you feel as though you are gathered around the fire in a Viking longhouse listening to the ancient skalds themselves.

The evening takes place in the atmospheric surroundings of the Earth House, where the immersive setting creates the perfect backdrop for these legendary tales. The bar will be open throughout the evening, and a food vendor will also be on site, so you can relax with a drink and something to eat while enjoying the performance.
